Dan Brown’s latest ebook outsells the print version

Here’s an interesting article. Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code, has released his latest book and it is selling ‘like hot cakes’. But, the interesting fact is that the ebook version designed to be read on Amazon’s Kindle device is outselling the printed version.

This might be just one of the moments in time when all of the hype about the book and the Amazon device turn into reality. The twist in the tale is that the book is also set to become the most discounted book in history too.

Apart from the total mystery about why Dan Brown’s books sell, I think it’s great that the electronic version is selling so well. I continue to love my ebook, and find it a great deal more convenient that carrying around the multiple books I’m reading. Looks like ebooks are here to stay. As for it being so discounted, see above!

I heard someone describe the book as “rollicking tosh”. But this time, it’s rollicking along at warp speed as people download it. I’m still dithering over whether to get one of these e-reader devices but this book is not reason enough!

That description sounds about right, although I haven’t read this one. As for getting an e-reader device – what are you waiting for ??!!??? You will love it. You probably don’t have a handbag, but if you did it would fit in easily and go with you whenever and wherever you go. Perfect for those odd 10 minutes when someone keeps you waiting, but you don’t want to be seen with a book under your arm (because that would be rude!!!) Mine has about 100 classics on it, which I am happily rediscovering.

All that said – fascinating stats on the progress of the things.

Maybe I should get a manbag and get one! I’m suitably encouraged now!
